UPDATED
ON 14th OCTOBER
At 5.00 p.m. on Saturday there is a
Fireworks Display on the River Thames.
We take a break from backgammon to go up river to see
them.
This year we have a boat to take us there and back.
There will be a fleet of cabs at the YHA from 3.30 p.m.
to take us just up river to Cherry Garden Pier.
The boat will leave the Pier at 4.00 p.m.
There is a bar on the boat (pub prices)
and room for 4 backgammon tables.
The Finals of the
Main, Consolation, Last Chance and Suicide
Singles Knockout Tournament will happen as we cruise up river.
We will travel through Tower Bridge,
past The Tower of London, St Paul's Cathedral,
Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, the Tate Modern Museum
and will moor at Temple Pier -
the perfect spot from where to see the fireworks
from either on the boat or on Victoria Embankment.
The presentation of Singles Knockout trophies
will also happen on the boat.
This will include, to the winner of the Main, a bottle of
champagne
which is being donated by the Captain of the boat.
We return by boat to Cherry Garden Pier for 6.00 p.m.
and walk back to the YHA.
The cost for this trip is just £5 per
head.
