At the live in London tournament David Naylor revealed a prototype for exigent backgammon travellers
Travel boards are normally too small or lack the essential frame and bar therefore following an idea by Catherine Le Gal, David has built this full size board for you light travellers who need a serious playing field. All you need then is a flat surface
The frame is built from a 250 year old French walnut tree.
6 inset brass hinges allow the frame to collapse and open
a soft leather playing section is snapped onto the frame
the bar is inserted to hold the frame in position
a platform is placed into the bar for hit checkers
The board comes complete with:
resin checkers 38mm x 6mm
hand sewn and felt lined leather cups
set of four standard dice
22mm cube
Holdall in "daim"
The overall length is 50cm and weighs 1kg
Hopefully the board will be on David's site (see below) by the end of November
