FIREWORKS

At 5.00 p.m. on Saturday there is a Fireworks Display on the River Thames.

We take a break from backgammon to go up river to see them.

There will be a fleet of cabs

at The Spice Island from 3.30 p.m.
to take us to the Pier at the Hilton Hotel just 500 yards away.

Then we have a boat to take us up river.

This years boat is bigger and better and can carry 80 passengers,
has a bar (pub prices) and room for backgammon tables.

The Finals of the
Main, Consolation, Last Chance and Suicide
Singles Knockout Tournament will happen as we cruise up and down river.

We will travel through Tower Bridge,

past The Tower of London, St Paul's Cathedral,
Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, the Tate Modern Museum
and will dock near to The Temple -
the perfect spot from where to see the fireworks.

The Fireworks Display is at 5.00 p.m.

The boat will then go up river to view the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.

If the Main Singles Knockout is completed on board the boat
the winner will receive a bottle of champagne

which is being donated by the Captain of the boat.

We return by boat to the Hilton Hotel Pier for 6.00 p.m.

We then walk back the 500 yards to The Spice Island
(there are a couple of Pubs en route)
or there is a Public Bus (£1) that runs every 20 minutes.

If the Singles Knockout is not completed by the return of the boat to the Pier those players still involved MUST return directly to The Spice Island to complete the Tournament before the evening session of backgammon kicks in at 8.00 p.m.

The cost for this trip is just £5 per head.

The Fireworks Display is part of

The Lord Mayor's Show
