At 5.00 p.m. on
Saturday there is a Fireworks Display on the River Thames.
Players
can
take a break from backgammon to go up river to see them.
There will be a fleet of cabs
at The Spice Island from 3.00 - 3.20 p.m.
to take us to the Pier at the Hilton Hotel just 500 yards away.
Then we have a boat to take us up river.
It will leave PROMPT at 3.30 p.m.
(Otherwise we miss the
tide and will not get through Blackfriars Bridge
before the PLO close all river traffic for the Fireworks Display)
This years boat
will be a 50 seater
with
room for backgammon tables.
Your first drink is included in the
price of the ticket.
Thereafter there is a bar (pub
prices).
The Singles Knockout will adjourn
and
there will be 16 player Mini-Jackpots on the boat.
We will travel through Tower Bridge,

past The Tower of London, St Paul's Cathedral,
Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, the Tate Modern Museum
and will dock near to The Temple -
the perfect spot from where to see the fireworks.
The Fireworks
Display is at 5.00 p.m.
The boat will then go up river to view the Houses of Parliament and Big
Ben.

The Winners of the Mini-Jackpots will receive a trophy and
a bottle of champagne
which is being donated by the Captain of the boat.
We return by
boat to the Hilton Hotel Pier for 6.00 p.m.
We then walk back the 500 yards to The Spice Island
(there are a couple of Pubs en route)
or there is a Public Bus (£1.20)
that runs every 20 minutes.
If the
Mini-Jackpots
are
not completed by the return of the boat to the
Pier those players still involved MUST return directly to The Spice Island
to complete the Tournament before the evening session of backgammon kicks
in at 8.00 p.m.
All Players still in the Singles Knockout must return at 6.00 p.m.
to The Spice Island to finish off their matches.
The cost for this trip (cabs, boat and drink) is
£10 per head.
Seats (50) are on a first paid for basis.

sign me up pages)
