BACKGAMMON
IN  CAMDEN

Today’s situation is simple. You are playing a match, and it is DMP (double match point). That occurs often in matches, where whoever wins the game wins the match, and in this situation, gammons and backgammons don’t matter a bit. It’s all about winning the game.

White is on roll and has to play 6-1.

To make it easier for you, I will even tell you how to play half the roll. Come in off the bar with the 1.
Now all you have to do is figure out where the best 6 is.

And to make it even easier, I’ll give you 4 choices:

1) Hit your opponent off the 2 point (8/2*)

2) Make your ace point (7/1)

3) Make your bar point (12/7)

4) Bring a builder around (15/9)

And now, for the tie-breaker question.

Supposing white had rolled 2-2 instead of 6-1.
How would you play it?
