There were 70 good quality players including Chris Bray, Paul Lamford, Lawrence Powell, Shino Kazuhiro, Julian Wilson, John Broomfield, to name just a few, and with the matches being to 5 points with a 7 point final this social day turned up some surprise results! Zia Mahmoud eventually prevailed in the final against George Weiss, having seen off Peter Falter, Andrew Sergeant, Daniel Flesch, Alain Rodier and Neil Zarach. CancerBACUP are delighted to be returning to the RAC for this year's event and are sure it will be a great success. Brunch will be preceded by a Champagne Reception and followed by the Backgammon and Bridge Tournaments. The winner of the main backgammon tournament will receive the CancerBACUP trophy and a superb Geoffrey Parker board valued at £1,500. There will also be a second tournament for the Geoffrey Parker Cup. The Bridge tournament will be Duplicate and the winners will receive leather bridge sets, also kindly donated by Geoffrey Parker.
