Your board is Celtic in design. Was backgammon
played by the Celts ?
It
seems probable that the answer is yes.
A 700 year old Backgammon Set was found on
Gloucester a few years ago that has Celtic
designs on it. It has been reproduced. Check it
out at: http://www.backgammon.co.uk

I've got one of your sets but I've lost a
stone and a dice.
Can I have replacements ?
First
of all please re-read the folding instructions.
If you fold the board up with the stones and dice
inside, you should not lose anything. Send me an
e-mail and we will send you replacements.
If you need only one item, I'll charge you only
for the postage, but more than one means you've
been careless and I'll charge you 50pence per
item + postage.

What happens if I spill a drink on the board ?
Wash
it in a normal wash. It is 100% cotton. If it was
red wine you spilled get a bucket of salt quickly
! If you wish to iron your board, turn it upside
down, place another piece of cotton over it and
then iron it.

I'd like to make my board into a fixed board.
How do I do this?
Un-pick
the seam around the edge of your tea towel and
iron it flat. Buy a piece of plywood the exact
same size as your tea towel. Use spray glue to
fix the tea towel to the wood. Buy some wood
beading, cut mitre corners to size and use No
More Nails wood glue to fix around the edges.

I
think the edges look better painted black. How do
I do that?
If
you want to do this, spray paint will give you a
better finish and do this before you do any glueing. A glass top makes it a more usable piece of
furniture. But if you do this, use thick
non-reflective glass otherwise you will not see
the board until you smash down a stone and break
the glass !
