TRAC TOURNO 7
We had a record number of gammons in this Tric Trac Tourno
which made the it all very exciting. As I've said before, and
as I said to all the players just before we started, to win a
Tric Trac Tourno you must pick up gammons or backgammons to
win those extra winning points. This does mean that players
take risks where they wouldn't usually take risks, but this
makes for more open games and therefore more contact. Of the
incredible 7 gammons scored (though no backgammons) 2 were won
by purpleturtle and another 2 were won by Zoe_K. Combine that
with the fact that these two both beat all other comers except
for Jenie, who beat them both, and the battle for first place
was between Zoe and Purple. Zoe, in the absence of Cassie25,
had been running the bar for this Tourno and whereas this
might of helped her to her two gammons, it might also have
been her downfall as well because she lost by a straight loss
to purpleturtle.
This was the second Tric Trac Tourno run via this new website
and it went much smoother than the first. That is not to say
I'm totally happy with it all yet. This time I posted up
results in the 1600+ Lobby soon after they were sent in, which
gave players a better idea of what they should be aiming to
win their next match by, but this could be improved yet - I'm
working on updating the Standings Page as results come in. The
thing that really slows me (as T.D.) down is players not
reporting their losses quickly. Some players still seemed to
have problems getting into the TTT website to make those
reports, a problem I'm looking into, but others had not sussed
out how to do this before the TTT started.
