TTTs and Knockouts might be infrequent over the next week or two. I'm sure all players will be pleased to learn that I've at long last bought a new computer. This current one is 5 years old. Now that might seem a long time to you but in my household mechanical equipment has to earn its keep: my television is 20 years old, my fridge is 15 years old, my hi-fi was replaced 10 years ago and my telephone is a whipper-snapper at just 2 years old. I refuse to have a mobile telephone. So this computer is getting away with murder at only 5 years service. I expect the new one to last 10 years and I've already told it so. It will feature something called broadband, the latest version of AOL, Windows XP and Norton System Works. I'm also changing my server provider - the mob I've been using up until now are way out of order on their prices and the service has not been particularly good. The new server provider will feature a data-base file as well. What is this for ? Ah ha - wait and see - but suffice to say that a new online playing sub-website is planned and I'll also start running Swiss Tournaments. |
