 After a couple of workshops where I have taught work colleagues how to play Backgammon, we held our first TTT. Undeterred, by the fact that the England footballers were struggling to qualify for the World Cup that night we had four brave souls show initially.

It is worth mentioning that Alex had only learned to play the night before, but had then spent all day playing JellyFish Light. Not a bad start.

By the end of the first TTT, we had six players, so we decided to do it all again in TTT169.

NOTE BY MMM:

Richard has played (very successfully) in a few live Tric Trac Tournos and recognises the value of a TTT to a new player. He asked if he could use the TTT format at his place of work. Sounds like a good place of work there Richard ! I was more than happy to oblige. 

Richard's email (I'm posting this report way way late) does not say what happened after Players Kevin and Alex both ended play on 4 points. In a full TTT (as this was even if only 4 full) correct rules are that a Final-Play-off should be played between those on highest equal points. This does not seem to have happened. 

So, for the time being, because Kevin won his match against Alex I will adopt the Pre-TTT rules that states "If we have players on equal points we decide who goes into the Final-Play-off by backgammons won, then gammons won, then straight wins, then by games between them won." In this case where it says "Final-Play-off" read as "TTT Winner". 

I did say "for the time being" because correct TTT rules should be applied. Kevin and Alex should play a Final Play-off. If and when they do so I shall update this page accordingly.

In fact, to make it clear that we do not actually have a firm winner of TTT168 I shall not call Kevin the Winner of TTT168. He shall be known for the moment as "Le Winning a ce moment of TTT168".

He he, That should keep 'em playing b-g at Richards work if they are not still doing so !   Get 'em playing I say ! Just helping you keeping them at it Richard. We're both on the same mission.
